Indonesia continues to explore the development of transport projects based on string transport technology, with Jakarta and its surrounding growth areas becoming an important focus for potential implementation.

Recently, Oleg Zaretskiy, CEO of uScovery DMCC, held discussions in Jakarta with the leadership of the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation of Indonesia, DJKA, and representatives of PT Jababeka Tbk. The meeting focused on opportunities to introduce string transport solutions in the Jababeka area, a rapidly growing industrial and residential district near Jakarta.

Jababeka is experiencing fast population and economic growth, placing increasing pressure on its transport infrastructure. While rail connectivity already exists, the area continues to face significant “last mile” challenges, especially in connecting residential, commercial, and industrial zones with railway stations.

During the discussions, participants noted that traditional transport solutions may not be sufficient on their own to address future mobility demand. In this context, string transport was considered as a promising option to complement existing rail systems and improve urban and suburban connectivity.

Allan Tandiono, Director General of DJKA, emphasized the importance of introducing innovative transport technologies to support Indonesia’s long-term mobility development.

The parties also discussed the need for a pilot project to demonstrate the practical effectiveness of string transport technology and create a foundation for future scaling. One potential concept included a route connecting a national park area with an existing metro or rail transit line.

Support for the technology is also being shown by Indonesia’s professional transport community. Dr. Haris Muhammadun, Chairman of the Indonesian Transport Society, is involved in preparing analytical and feasibility materials for government institutions.

For uSky Transport, Indonesia represents an important market where modern, elevated, energy-efficient transport systems can support sustainable urban development while helping cities address congestion, connectivity, and last-mile mobility challenges.
