uSky Transport Founder and General Designer Dr. Anatoli Unitsky chaired a workshop meeting with the company management and engineering staff for the erection of the Test Track 4 structure.
Special attention was paid to the quality of the ongoing works, safety assurance, and managing the contractors and suppliers.
Under the process of involving a contractor, a 1:1 scale 6-meter long visual mockup has been assembled to demonstrate how the components fit together.
The mockup enabled the team to visually evaluate the simplicity of the design, feasibility of the assembly and show some design features, including the explication to the local building contractor in the UAE, where no one had previously faced such a structure.
The workshop helped simplify some erection stages, and highlight high requirements for safety and environmental friendliness of the specific work to be carried out.
The given track structure will be implemented on the overall length of 2,400 m, with a span of 144 m and 288 m, and is designed for movement of large passenger capacity passenger uBus and container carriers uCont with the cumulative weight of up to 60 tons.
A low size-weight ratio, impressive spans, and low cost make this type of overpass much more competitive in comparison with traditional types of transport structures.
