Professional look at uSky Technology from Latin American engineers

[26.10.2022]

Engineers from Latin America came with a visit to uSky Test & Certification Centre. Our guests went ahead to indulge their professional interest with the features of uSky Transport & Infrastructure Technology and met with Founder and General Designer Dr. Anatoli Unitsky.

The guests were introduced to the concept of the new linear uCity, implemented as a model with five operating uSky lines, which make use of the patented uSky rail and uSky overpass technologies.

String rail is one of the most important parts of uSky solutions. Through this technology, uSky solutions have such consumer qualities as reliability, safety, high throughput of the transport line.

A string rail is a conventional continuous (along the length) steel, reinforced concrete or steel-reinforced concrete beam or truss equipped with a rail head and additionally strengthened with pre-stressed (tensioned) strings.

The string rail combines the characteristics of the flexible cable (at a long distance between anchor supports) and rigid beam (at a small beam span – under a wheel of uPod and above the support).

A flat head of the rail and cylindrical steel wheel ensure minimal energy consumption during the movement.

uSky Transport officials proudly showed the company's flagship to the guests, that would be the high-speed uFlash, which can reach the speed of up to 500 kmph while moving along the uSky overpasses.

The foreign engineers used the opportunity to get acquainted with the rail design and its operation in practice at the passenger terminal with a test ride in a certified tropical uCar.

Being professional, guests showed interest in specifications, design features and the functional safety of our innovative transport. Guests received answers to their questions in full.

Technical characteristics of uCar:

The traction module is designed to ensure the movement of the uCar with the ability to change the speed, direction, acceleration and stopping of the vehicle. The traction module consists of a traction bogie 1, current collectors 2 and electrical equipment of the traction module 3.

The last but not the least thing for the Latin American delegates was meeting with Dr. Anatoli Unitsky at the uSky Test & Certification Centre. The guests and the Designer General found a professional common language as they were discussing the relevance of innovative transport solutions in today's realities.

With particular pleasure, Dr. Anatoli Unitsky presented the delegation representatives with his autobiographical book “The Engineer”, where the designer narrates about his work on the creation of string transport systems, the goals he aspired to achieve and the difficulties he had to face.
