uSky Transport inspires future leaders and innovators

[18.07.2022]

uSky Transport keeps developing cooperation with educational institutions and keenly supports the aspiration of young talents for knowledge in the field of modern technologies.

Earlier, uSky Transport enjoyed sharing its experience with the students of the University of Tunis Carthage, the Republic of Tunisia, and the College of Fine Arts and Design at the University of Sharjah.

This time, uSky tour was given to young achievers from Rubu' Qarn Foundation (RQ), who were given a free membership to Sharjah Open Innovation Lab (SoiLAB) at Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park).

Rubu’ Qarn, was established in September 2016 by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of Rubu’ Qarn for creating future leaders and innovators. It is the first UAE, Arab and regional initiative to build an Emirati generation capable of leading and influencing the future.

Sharjah Open Innovation Lab (SoiLAB) is nestled strategically in the heart of SRTI Park surrounded by the University City, school areas, and an exponentially growing industry presence in the airport Free Zone. It is well placed to become the central hub for innovation that connects all stakeholders under one roof.

More than 30 young achievers with proven excellence in science and technology, who won many global and regional awards in robotics and coding, visited uSky Centre to get familiar with uSky Transport & Infrastructure Technology.

The visitors were introduced to uSky Transport office, an eco-friendly and sustainable green uHouse, the only one throughout the United Arab Emirates completely built of wood. That said, uHouse meets all fire safety standards, and the eco-architecture of the office follows world trends.

Moreover, the green uHouse project is unique in sense that it is designed for residential clusters in the concept of a linear uCity, the operating model of which was presented to young researchers. The youth showed genuine interest in the presented concept and overwhelmed the uSky representative with interesting questions.

The uSky tour was held for the young talents in the format of an active dialogue about innovations and prospects in the transport industry, in which uSky Transport stands out with its compelling advantages:

  • enhanced safety of high-speed transportation due to rolling stocks travelling high above the ground;

  • minimal land uptaken by string rail overpasses, which can be easily adapted to perform any logistic tasks;

  • more favorable construction and operating costs compared to other types of overpass transport and underground metro;

  • environmental friendliness;

  • adaptability to local social conditions.

uSky Transport is grateful to Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park), Rubu' Qarn Foundation (RQ), and Sharjah Open Innovation Lab (SoiLAB) for the opportunity to showcase uSky Transport & Infrastructure Technology to the future UAE leaders and innovators, and perhaps to inspire thereby their talented minds to seek innovation and creative solutions.
